1999: The Beginning

Our story began in 2000 when our family opened the doors of our first taco truck. And we mean that quite literally. In the starting days, we worked right inside of the yard of our family home. Neighbors told friends, friends told coworkers... next thing you know, we had strangers eating in the yard asking if they could use the bathroom of our family home, and we let them. With a passion for authentic food and a love for Detroit, we saw the dream in front of us and worked it into a reality. It got to a point where the yard started to feel a little crowded and we knew we had to build with our momentum.

 

2014: Expansion

Fourteen years later, our delicious tacos had won the hearts of many, leading us to open our second truck. This expansion allowed us to bring our flavors to even more corners of the city.

2013: Embracing Social Media

In 2013, we joined Instagram, connecting with our customers in new ways and showcasing our mouth-watering dishes to a wider audience.

 

2015: Major Events

2015 marked our debut at Detroit's Mopop music festival and the start of our participation in Detroit Street Eats. These events allowed us to become a staple in the Detroit food scene.

 

2017: Taco Showdown Champions

Our hard work and dedication paid off when we won the Taco Showdown in 2017. This recognition affirmed our commitment to serving the best tacos in Detroit.  

 

2018: Celebrating with Detroit

We had the honor of participating in major Detroit events like the Detroit Tigers Opening Day and the Downtown Tree Lighting in 2018, bringing our tacos to festive crowds. 

 

2019: Back-to-Back Wins

We continued our winning streak by clinching the Taco Showdown title again in 2019, solidifying our reputation for excellence.

2021: Growing Stronger

In 2021, we built a beautiful terraza at our original location, providing a welcoming space for our customers to enjoy their meals. We also acquired our third truck out of necessity, ensuring we could serve our famous tacos on Cinco de Mayo.

2022: Best in Detroit

2022 was a year of accolades as we were named Best Detroit Taco at Fiesta Detroit. We also began serving at Pride Plaza for Detroit Lions games, further embedding ourselves in the community.

2024: NFL Draft

Most recently, we had the privilege of participating in the 2024 NFL Draft, serving our tacos at multiple locations downtown and sharing our culinary delights with football fans from all over.

2026: A (Metro-)Detroit Staple

Now with 25 years, the business of slinging tacos has extended well past the neighborhood and into the greater Metro-Detroit area. We're known and loved through the seasons downtown in Campus Martius for Downtown Street Eats, we've been able to feed the hungry fans outside Ford Field throughout the Lions season, ballpark fans at Grand Circus Park for multiple Opening Days, hungry students right in the heart of the WSU's campus. Maybe you've seen us at the Farmer's Market in Royal Oak or parked in a neighbors driveway out in Bloomfield Hills. Perhaps you've seen us next to the ice cream truck at Family Fun Day at Heritage Park in Taylor.

 

Through the years, our commitment to quality and community has remained unwavering. From our humble beginnings to becoming a beloved fixture at major Detroit events, we are proud to serve our family’s recipes with love and authenticity. Thank you for being a part of our journey!
